Video AI Is Cool — But Something's Missing From It

A Small But Interesting Experiment

This time I want to invite you to look at something quite interesting to discuss together.

In the video I've shared here, you can see a promotional piece for my ebook about Remote Jobs Playbooks — a guide I wrote to help anyone who wants to start or grow their remote career journey.

And this promotional video? Entirely made by AI.

Pretty good, right? 🎬

The visuals are sharp. The colors are bright and appealing. The storyline is structured and aligned with the content of the ebook I wrote. Technically — it's nearly perfect.

But...

Did you notice something different?


A Pattern That's Easy to Spot

I'm sure most of you could tell from the very first second of watching.

"This must be AI-generated."

And you're right. The pattern of AI-produced videos is already very easy to recognize today — from the way the visuals move, transitions that are a little too smooth, to expressions that feel slightly... stiff.

But that's not the main point I want to discuss.

What's more interesting to reflect on is this:

Beyond the fact that it was made by AI — is there anything else that truly stuck with you after watching it?

A tagline that lingered? A feeling it left behind? A moment that made you smile or feel moved?

Hardly anything. And that's not a coincidence.


A Beautiful Video — But Without a Soul

Try comparing it to the various commercials you normally see — a family syrup ad during the holidays, a fuel commercial showing a journey full of meaning, a beverage ad that somehow always manages to make you feel nostalgic.

Those ads stick. Their taglines get imprinted. The emotion feels real.

Why?

Because behind that one-minute ad, there's a long process involving many people, each with their own role:

  • 🎭 Casting — choosing the right faces to represent the product's message
  • 📖 Scriptwriting — crafting a narrative that is touching and relevant
  • 📣 Messaging & CTA — ensuring every word has a purpose
  • 🚗 Drivers & logistics — making sure every element arrives on time
  • 🎬 Director — keeping the overall vision intact
  • 💡 Lighting crew — creating atmosphere through light
  • 💄 Wardrobe & makeup — the small details that make everything feel real
  • ✂️ Editing team — weaving all the moments into one flowing story

One minute of video. But behind it lies a long process, a struggle at every stage, and the hopes and prayers that accompany every step of the journey.

And that is what AI cannot provide.

Not because AI is technically incapable — but because AI doesn't have the human experience that becomes the soul of a piece of work.


So, What Exactly Is AI?

Let's clear up a few things that are often misunderstood.

AI is a human-made innovation — created with a very clear purpose: to help make life easier for humans across every area of life. And truly across every area — from medicine, education, business, creative fields, to everyday life.

But there is one fundamental thing we need to understand:

AI has no initiative. AI has no ideas. AI only executes instructions from humans — and delivers results according to those instructions.

AI is not a threat. AI is not a replacement for humans.

AI is a human creation, whose primary data is human behavior, thought, and innovation itself. The development of AI depends entirely on the development of human thinking and innovation.

Imagine this scenario:

Humans stop growing because they feel AI can already do everything. Meanwhile, AI waits for new data — which can only come from humans — in order to keep developing.

Who loses?

Both. But humans lose the most.


AI Is Not a Shortcut — It's a Partner

There's a misconception that needs to be addressed, especially among content creators and creative professionals.

AI is not a tool for producing work in an empty and instant way.

AI is a partner that helps maximize the spark of your small ideas — providing visuals, possibilities, both positive and critical perspectives on an idea, and accelerating you toward results better than you could achieve alone.

The difference is significant:

One Thing Often Forgotten: Foundational Knowledge Still Matters

And this is a point I strongly emphasize.

AI is not a reason to stop learning the fundamentals of a subject.

Why? Because AI can be wrong. AI can provide information that sounds convincing, is neatly structured, and appears logically sound on the surface — but is factually incorrect.

Imagine using an AI-generated answer for something critically important — a major business presentation, a thesis defense, a medical decision, or an important legal document.

If you don't have enough foundational knowledge to validate AI's answer — you won't even know it's wrong.

And the consequences can be enormous.

This is why humans must keep learning. Not to compete with AI — but to remain the intelligent human beings who control AI, not the humans who are controlled by AI.

So — this AI-made promotional video for my ebook is technically good. I won't deny that.

But I didn't make it as a final piece I'm proud of. I made it as an experiment — to show you exactly what we've been talking about today.

And that's the difference.
